This is actually what I’m going with. I don’t see Touch of Evil on Netflix unfortunately, and my local dvd rental place closed in 2011.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:third man

Glass is 2/3rds of a good movie. James McAvoy continues to be wonderfully hammy as The Horde. The climax is so flat and uncinematic it beggars belief. It's like they ran out of money right before shooting it.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Saw two recent movies on a plane the past couple days.
Beautiful Boy had a typical cable tv movie (downer of a) plotline elevated by Steve Carrell's and Timothy Chalamet's Acting. I might rank that as Carrell's best dramatic performance, the only time I thought of his comedic work was one scene where he yells in a high pitch scream.
Bohemian Rhapsody was uneven but it got better in the second half. I know it played fast & loose with the real story and it definitely glossed over a few things. Obviously the music is crowd pleasing and those sequences were definitely the best parts of the movie. Malek did a pretty good job in a challenging, larger than life role. But Best Actor and Best Picture?

Re: What movies are you watching?
I really couldn't make it through The Third Man last night, but I appreciated all the Dutch angles. It's not that it was a boring movie (quite the opposite, actually) but I just wasn't fully into sitting through a film, I guess. It didn't help that my dog really wanted to fetch throughout the first third and I kept taking my eyes off the screen. I ended up turning on ESPN+ and watching a 30 for 30 that I could kind of ignore and throwing the pup's toy about a thousand times. Vienna looks like a weird town. I need to make time to finish this.
Being home on a Saturday night while my wife is at work and having free time isn't all it's cracked up to be.
