Is this meant to be funny? It’s really not.
They’re great when they’re talking about U2 but when they veer off it’s so juvenile

Lol. I just got to the part where they “turned” Harris into a “fan.”
I couldn’t put my finger on it until now, but the way these ads are read seems straight out of Sifl & Olly.washing machine wrote:Maybe they got away from it later, but they really ham it up in those early U2 episodes. I consider it a part of the show. It’s great.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I’ve never heard them do an ad

I don't remember which episode it's from but here is Adam Scott's REM forum post. The best part is him throwing a little parks and rec plug in there lol.

I'm pissed off that aspcott was right. Never in my 20 years of being an R.E.M. fan would I have thought they would put messages in their songs when it was time they wanted to break up. They didn't need to do that. I'm not a detective, I don't need to be given clues.

Does this have something to do with computers? The internet?

I'm enjoying TAL a fair bit. Often the subjects don't seem too enthralling but by ten mins in I'm hooked.

Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
I can't even fathom how far behind I am on TAL. I listened religiously, every week, from 2007-2013 or so. Then it started to get more sporadic, but because I wanted to try and keep up, I kept putting it on my iPod every week. If a week's topic sounds really interesting, I will throw it on, but otherwise it gets tossed into the "later" pile. Actually, I can check on my iPod to quantify it: I have about 135 episodes in the hopper.

Murderville GA really highlights how good Serial was. It’s an adequate pod which centres on an obvious flaw in the justice system to the horrendous outcome for an individual. But it lacks real character. The hosts don’t carry it with ease.

Can't remember from all the REM talk: have you ever tried In The Dark? It'll scratch you where you itch.LetMeSleep wrote:Murderville GA really highlights how good Serial was. I guess that's true. Maybe I just expected him to naysay it more because it's always been a hard record to get into for me personally.durdencommatyler wrote:I totally knew he'd dig it. Shorter songs. Pretty curious to hear their Around the Sun takes.
