New single "III Wind" released today! This may come as a surprise but it doesn't suck at all.

Nevermind, I'm late to the party. Didn't know it was the Spectre b-side. Either way it's out on digital now.

On a side note, when I watched Spectre recently I played the RH song over the opening credits and realized anyone who rejected it was an idiot.

It's been available digitally for years now. It's been on Ridleybradout's b-sides set for a while now too.

The post-Kid A/Amnesiac B-Side set has grown in to quite the gem. My own version of that "album" goes like this:

1. The Daily Mail
2. I Am A Wicked Child
3. Up On The Ladder
4. Bangers + Mash
5. The Butcher
6. Staircase
7. I Am Citizen Insane
8. Paperbag Writer
9. Down Is the New Up
10. Ill Wind
11. Supercollider
12. Spectre
13. These Are My Twisted Words
14. Last Flowers
15. Gagging Order
16. Go Slowly
17. 4 Minute Warning

So in the week that my turntable has so far been at the repair shop I've been listening to live DVDs and some CDs that I don't have on vinyl.

Over yesterday and today I've listened to Kid A and Amnesiac - both of which I haven't listened to in the longest time. Going into this it was my memory that Kid A was outstanding and Amnesiac was its poor cousin, but I have to say now, that while Kid A is great - Amnesiac is at a higher level of greatness. I still prefer Morning Bell on Kid A though

Amnesiac always got the short end of the stick because of the way publications treated it at release, calling it a release of songs that didn't make it to Kid A. So everyone just thought it was kind of a b-side album. It's a great album in its own right.

I tend to enjoy "Amnesiac" more than "Kid A" as well. While a comparison of each album's track-by-track average would probably come out in favor of "Kid A," there is just something about the album as a whole that feels exhausting to me, like I'm wading through quicksand or something -- too slow-going, sluggish, and heavy for too long. The hither-and-yon, patchwork vibe of "Amnesiac" seems to keep me tuned in for longer, and has more spots to come up for air. Plus is has possibly my two favorite bookends in their whole catalog, which always serves the stuff in between well.

I absolutely love Amnesiac, but it's maybe the one record of theirs I would resequence if given the opportunity. They left some really great stuff on the cutting room floor ("Cuttooth," "Amazing Sounds of Orgy," "Fog"). And I don't think we really needed that extra version of "Morning Bell" -- all it really does is make the record feel even more like Kid B.

The distortion on AMSP really pulls me out of the experience. It's a shame too because I love the record otherwise.

while i still do love Amnesiac, it doesn't hold a candle to Kid A. side B of Amnesiac tends to lose me, minus Dollars And Cents.

Packt through Knives Out is stellar.
