Watch it with anything like the frequency of the others, I will watch it.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi
Funny you mention that.
I was thinking about what it is I don’t like about Solo.
It’s fun as hell but it’s the camera work. It’s really really static. No movement that I can think of. You look at TFA and there’s almost constant movement. The OT is totally static too but the story forgives it.
Just thought some more physical moving shots would have elevated it. There’s tons of opportunities for it in the film. Damn you Ron Howard

I've watched this maybe 5 times since I got it on Blu-ray. Still love it.

Did you listen to Johnson’s commentary yet? It’s nowhere near as good as JJs in TFA but still good.
The ‘balance of the force’ on the extras, explaining about the decisions he made on the force and Luke is really brilliant.
And I could watch the Director and the Jedi all day

Luke projecting himself to a different planet is probably the most powerful thing a Jedi can do. And it was completely in line with is character and Jedi's in general. Not sure JJ and Co. should even try to appeal to fans like this.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi
I’ve no evidence to base this on but a lot of these guys seem to be kinda younger and coming from it in a gaming aspect, the hero has to be all powerful (and pull star destroyers out of the sky with the force
) even though that clashes completely with Jedi or more specifically Luke.
This is where the constant conveyer belt of bullshit ‘leaks’ from mike zeroh etc are hurting the fandom overall.
He released twenty four videos in one day last week all claiming to be leaks from episode IX.
Pal of mine watched them all and said he literally made up enough bullshit to fit into two movies.
We all know he’s a fraud but he’s creaming the money in from his channel and an awful lotta people are falling for it.

That's crazy and of course the money doesn't is a big incentive. A lot of mediocre content on You Tube.
I never wanted a "bad ass" Jedi Luke, but more of a Luke as an Obi-Wan or Yoda (before Jedi were upgraded in the PT)
It make sense that the TLJ force projection is like the ultimate skill a Jedi could learn and attempt to use. I can see that would make Luke look pretty great. Since I wasn't engaged in the First Order threat / Resistance last hope situation, it felt kinda like a dud.

I've still never watched it, come to think of it. I'll save it for when I'm anxiously ramping up for IXdimejinky99 wrote:Did you listen to Johnson’s commentary yet? It’s nowhere near as good as JJs in TFA but still good.

You’ve watched the Director and the Jedi. Right?
I’m sure we spoke about it.
If not WTF????
It and the mini extra I mentioned (balance of the force) are fucking outstanding!
Easily as enjoyable and possibly more so, than the film!

I will never get tired of the seen where luke kisses Leia and tell her " No ones ever really gone". It such a beautiful scene of sorrow, sadness and hope.

Totally.
Made more beautiful by the conversation being the inverse of the one they have on Endor where he tells her he has to at least try save Vader. Their father.

Oh yeah, that scene man...it actually made me think about myself a lot. Lots of people who are not around and how things changed. Its so powerful and Hamill is so fucking good.dimejinky99 wrote:lowlight79 wrote:I will never get tired of the seen where luke kisses Leia and tell her " No ones ever really gone". The outtake of that same shot in the Director and the Jedi is even more of a gut punch.
I can’t remember but there’s extra dialogue that changes the dynamic and she’s actually crying. Not just acting.
Gonna be so hard seeing her on screen again knowing she’s gone

yeah, im very curious about whats her role in the new movie. Is it going to be just a few scenes like in TFA? Is it going to be a little more prominent?
Are they going to kill Leia offscreen?
