Too true. The film itself was something else, like he was bigger than it somehow.

I have not but after reading about it that sounds interesting.

Up next is Buster Scruggs.

I'm convinced after the Netflix Fyre doc that all of is a giant performance art piece.

Probably orchestrated by Zardulu.

Alita.

- James Cameron should be really embarrassed by this script/dialogue.

- I still have no idea why Christoph Waltz is famous.

- Twilight with cyborgs

- Jennifer Connelly is ageless

What an amazing double feature. Absolutely loved both of them. The Fan is one of the best movies I've ever seen.

I found a copy of Der Fan. It's 1:29:15. DVD quality. I don't know if its the uncut restored version. I will give it a try.

The DVD is the edited version, unfortunately. Uncut version is 94 minutes.

Why is she turned on by a sax to the box? That's weird.

It’s a weird movie. Lucio Fulci was a weirdo. I love it.

It looked like there was a cut
Spoiler: show
with the mailman and another during the sex scene. It got choppy in those spots at least. The mailman had lipstick on his face or something but it wasn't explained unless I misunderstood something. I wish I didn't google it. One of the posters spoiled where it was going so I was just waiting for it though I'm pretty sure I heard the audio of an electric knife a few times throughout the movie foreshadowing everything. There was some nazi symbolism that might have gone over my head. I assuming it related to the celebrity and fan relationship with Hitler and the public....maybe I don't know what's going on in the German mind. I'm not sure I enjoyed it cause its hard for me to enjoy exploitation films but it made me think.

You didn’t miss anything in the mailman scene; it’s the same in the uncut version. If something is being alluded to there, it’s vague.

Yeah, the nazi angle is interesting, but ultimately less interesting to me than the broader implications about youth, alienation, growing up, sexual ethics, and what art and people that have impacted your life mean to you as you grow and age and evolve. It’s very difficult and complex and uncomfortable. My favorite kind of movie experience, really.

Kudos for watching it. I appreciate that you’re exploring nooks and crannies of cinema instead of just watching Marvel movies.

I plan on going nuts about the middle of September through October on horror movies and I'll be hitting some of the classic horror exploitation movies that I've avoided all these years. I figure it's time.

The first half was some of the funniest stuff I've seen in awhile. Not so bad it's funny just legit funny. Then it went the way of the typical action movie but it was a nice surprise. Plus it had Uhura in it which blew my mind.

“The Endless”

Great indie sci-fi film
