Watched it last night with the fam, huzzah's all-round. I wish the sound editing was a little better - lots of volume peaks and valleys - but otherwise I'd have to say it's the best Star Wars thing released so far this year.dimejinky99 wrote:Just watched that Always super trailer again.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX (2019)
Were there any flashbacks in the original trilogy? I worry about leaning on those too much for storytelling in Star Wars. But the fact that I can't immediately remember perhaps means it doesn't matter.

There are not flashbacks, no. It's the main reason people are so resistant to them in the ST. But I think as long as it's done well, it's totally fine. It all depends on execution.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX (2019)
We’re getting a flashback of Luke training Leia apparently.
I don’t know what purpose flashbacks serve In The final act of any trilogy.
Unless in this case it’s to show us Han Luke Chewie and Leia somehow.
But. As joe said. If it’s done right. Bring it. And JJ is good at this stuff

I worry about the flashbacks, did not like the Luke - Kylo one in TLJ, but still liked that movie overall.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX (2019)
TLJ was definitely the only film that featured a flashback

A good chunk of Force Awakens felt like a flashback.

As original as the Force Awakens, I am.
