I think most refs would have called that after seeing the hand drop limp like that, then asking twice if he was OK and no response.

Pretty sure Askren went out after the slam and first few punches to make matters even worse.

Kinda hoping Usman wins this. Always found Woodly to be a mostly boring fighter

Woodly looked pretty puffed at the end of the first round

This is the worst Woodley has ever looked.

He’s looked disinterested all fight but he has taken so much punishment to the body he just looks like he wants out of that cage.

Isn’t Jones just going to take him down and fuck him up?

What the fuck was Smith's strategy in this fight?

Watching Smith not take that DQ victory was such a contrast with how Askren handled his situation.

I kinda despise Askren, but he didn't really have a choice, the ref ended the fight.

Smith had a choice after Jones kneed him illegally and decided to move on.

They're not really comparable situations.

Not talking about the decision, I was talking about Askren pretending he won and refusing to run the fight back compared to Smith having the opportunity to walk out of there with a DQ win that could lead to another fight with Jones and doing the right thing without thinking twice.

Askren had a choice to act the way Dustin Poirier did after his fight with Alvarez, he went the complete opposite way.

So not only did Smith survive all five rounds, but Jones also threw an illegal knee?

Pretty hard to feel excited about Jones at this point.

It was kind of a lackluster night all around, but my big takeaway is why in the hell would anyone want to watch assface Askren instead of Mighty Mouse.

That "trade" still bothers me.

My big takeaway is that Johnny Walker is the most exciting guy in the sport right now.

So I'm new to this sport. Showing these fights all the time at my bar has made me not quite a fan, but certainly a casual follower.

I respected Smith for going all five rounds, but I have a big question after that knee incident. Is there anyone in the MMA world that would have actually taken the DQ way out in a fight like that? I assume stealing a win of that magnitude would have all but blackballed Smith or anyone else from the game.

I'd like to see Johnny Walker in a longer fight before I'm willing to make that call. I thought Pedro Munhoz was pretty great too, and I was stocked to see Woodly lose his title
