I remember when I started thinking this way about Reality, and then a decade later, totally out of the blue, The Next Day showed up. Then a couple of years later I heard the title track from Blackstar in a coffee shop and did some quick googling and found that another Bowie album was going to be released. Then it was. Then he died.

I haven't listened to it. But I'm not a big fan of the Real Gone remaster and hate that the original version isn't on Spotify. Thank god I've got the vinyl.

Mule isn’t the absolute crime that the Real Gone remaster is, but in all of those reissues they pushed his voice so far forward that they undercut the atmosphere, tenuousness, and spontaneity that defines the musicianship in his post-Franks work. It also demolishes what were often essential additions...the horns in Come On Up to the House are distant and buried, for example.

New interview on a French magazine: https://www.lexpress.fr/culture/cinema/ ... 76807.html
Your last record Bad as me was released in 2011. What are your next musical projects?
I'm working on a collection of titles that will be called Battle Hymns.

Is it ever OK for a person to lie?
It’s part of the creative process. You have to learn how to lie, and to lie well, in order not to be detected.

Those were great, thanks for the link!

Also, loving this pic. I was listening to Blue in Green when I saw it and it just fit perfectly in the mood:

and cassette! Lol. Classic 'mats move.

Hopefully it will all be on streaming though. I love Tom's contributions to "Date to Church". Perfectly howling in the background.

Regardless, super excited about this boxset and can't wait to hear this version of Dont Tell a Soul on Vinyl.
