I've always felt he was something of a sacrificial lamb for the band. The summer of '94 was nutso for everyone (especially Ed) with the death of Cobain, the Ticketmaster thing heating up and the band's allergic reaction to stardom reaching it's apex. Somebody had to get the axe and Dave was the obvious choice: "Let's blame Dave for all our communication problems. OK Bye Dave!"

Yeah I've just figured it was something had to give, and it ended up being Dave. And as for why ed didn't like him, who knows, there's been people I've flat out just can't stand for no reason, hate the way they talk, hate the way they move, hear them breathe and I think fuck this guy. Or maybe Dave was a bit of an assole towards ed too Idk, I haven't read/ seen enough about him to get a read on his personality.

there's something in the pj20 book (i think) about Bruce Springsteen convincing him in 2004 to make up with his step dad for the good of hos family. so he did it cos a famous guy he likes told him to.
