Very good write-up. In my opinion, the song is about someone who was tortured for speaking up and believing in something different. Think Eddie during the Bush years. The point is to do something when you can. Stand up for what you believe sort of lyrics. But, my point, on the video, to me, is it's not really doing that (standing up for what they believe in - because now Obama's in).

My question to you... stip... who is "they" in Ed's MYM lyrics?

Ed was "tortured for speaking up" in the Bush years? Oh please.

The only person tortured was me paying $85 to have to sit through Ed's childish 2003 tour Bushleaguer performance. (And BTW I'm not a fan of W).

you would have been smarter to pay $85 for the whole show, and not just Bushleaguer.

Bushleaguer is one song but it's so insufferable it can feel like a whole concert.
