You obviously don't know about pjs love affair with Berlin

Niall Doherty is the review editor of Q magazine in the UK. he tweeted this last night -

Title track of the new Pearl Jam album is the best of all their worlds: hard, heavy, a ballad, lighter-waver, fire-starter, epic & intimate.

I'll answer my own question

from Q on metacritic

S/T: [It] is a lusher and less challenging listen than recent efforts, but it's also curiously featureless, the sound of a group drained of passion and fresh ideas. [Jun 2006, p.118] (40/100)

Backspacer: For the first time in their 19-year career, Pearl Jam actually sound--whisper it--fun. [Oct 2009, p.119] (80/100)

Live on Ten Legs: Live On Ten Legs is career-spanning, expertly played, surprisingly spirited resume, with the curveballs of Joe Strummer And The Mescaleros' Arms Aloft and a slightly tweaked version of Public Image Limited's Public Image that misses the point by such a distance it borders on skewed genius. [Mar 2011, p.115] (60/100)

don't know if this is the same guy on these reviews, however

Q have always blown extremely hot and cold with pj but in many ways that reflects Pjs output, if that makes sense? I've almost always ended up agreeing with their reviews on this band.

I'm encouraged by the LB piece

September 3rd? Wtf?!

Can someone translate the German article? Why do they mention BoB over and over?

I was joking when I said the MYM video would be the beginning of the LB promo blitz. Maybe I was right?

It looks like the Germans are also getting the album early too, 10-11
For those going to the Pittsburgh show, now you know where to find the album early!

The Germans also had the early scoop on S/T. I love those crazy Europeans!

Google translate:
invitation to the playback, the new album with producer Brendan O'Brien. with most of all pearl jam-albums as producer, he had the finger in the game, as well as on the new factory "lightning bolt", which appears at 11/10/2013

Yeah, I'd say the promo campaign will begin in earnest now. Interviews etc. hopefully more listening parties. A badly recorded 'leak' hopefully won't happen. That'd suck.

First, BoB's listening party in Germany

Then?

Ed in Italy
MC in Australia
Mike in Seattle
Stone in NYC
Jeff at some skatepark in the middle of Nowhere, Montana

Followed by hundreds of poor audience recordings from said listening parties....

And maybe if he's lucky, they'll let Boom host one in Hawaii

On second thought, Stone will pass. "No thanks but I don't want to miss arts & crafts time with the kids!"

Mike will cover both Seattle & NYC... as well as be PJ's official "guy who gets invited to throw out the first pitch in minor league ballparks all across the country" in the name of LB promotion!
