Rogue One is better than The Force Awakens, and maybe as good as The Last Jedi.

It’s funny to me that R1 would be grouped in with the other new films like this, since they really couldn’t be further apart in my mind.

I'm sorry, I see where you are coming from. I guess it would make sense to separate Rogue One and Solo since they are one-shots, and keep TFA and TLJ to the other side, since they are part of the saga.
