There’s never been a point where it was reasonable to think that this might end with an election victory and a peaceful transition of power.

But since that is exactly what will happen, doesn’t that make it reasonable? Or is the bar so low now that a bunch protesters and some white power fucktards marching qualifies as “not peaceful”?

No. When they try and prevent the peaceful transition of power, it will not happen because they will not allow it to happen peacefully. More probably by the designs of the white power fucktard that happens to be the president right now.

Personally, I think it would depend on how we're defining 'widespread.' I don't necessarily think that half the country will engage in open revolt, but things tend to move so fast I often forget that a guy ramped up on white power fever rammed his car into a crowd of people and murdered somebody. That wasn't that long ago. I don't think it's far-fetched to think that kind of thing could happen again should things not go Trump's way (and certainly if Trump is fanning the flames).

This is what I was getting at. I would expect the new norm will be sporadic violence and protests, but this insinuation of widespread chaos is ridiculous. Ironically, the point of Russia messing with our elections to create that exact fear in the voter base, the “those guys over there are scary and violent and our team cannot compromise one bit” plan, thereby making people fear democracy.

If he's constantly on television, directly telling supporters that the vote is illegitimate, that would be a different story. I think people's concern is that they have no problem envisioning him doing that.
