I adore Sofia Boutella. But even so, I've had reservations about this movie.LoathedVermin72 wrote:This was very frustratingLoathedVermin72 wrote:Going to see Climax tonight

Re: What movies are you watching?
I also love Boutella.
It started promising, then ground to a halt for like 20 minutes. Then it started getting interesting, and for a good stretch in the middle it becomes something really special and horrific, basically Noe getting out his feelings about the horrorshow of the social media age. Then it just kind of...fizzles. Another really overlong stretch and a climax that does not deliver on what the movie set up for itself. I left kinda disappointed. It’s so close but it’s not there.

Can I get some recommendations on movies set in ~1725-1875 America? Think Last of the Mohicans, The Revenant, The Patriot, Cold Mountain. The more muskets and Native Americans, the better.

Thoroughly enjoyed Ravenous. Carlyle was as brilliant as ever, and I was pleasantly surprised by Jeffrey Jones' performance as Col. Hart.
Cheers Dime. Any others?

It might be his best; super close call between this and Brawl for me. I absolutely love his slow, hypnotic pacing.VinylGuy wrote:DAMN TOMORROW FOR ME, FUCK EVERYTHINGLoathedVermin72 wrote:THIS WAS SO FUCKING GOODVinylGuy wrote:LoathedVermin72 wrote:Vudu has Dragged Across Concrete available to rent in 4K for $7.
