It seems like she can only do one thing at a time. Becomes fixated and stuck on that. Until something shinier and more catastrophic offers itself. Interesting read.
If she’s so obsessed with maintaining the Union (uk) how is she so blind and deaf to the clamour in both NI and Scotland who voted remain?
Angela Merkel is in Dublin today. Varadkar brought people from the border counties to tell her their stories about how we can’t go back to a hard border.
Angela grew up in Eastern Germany on the wrong side of the wall. As if she needs to be told about hard borders. I don’t know whether it’s effective or eyeroll diplomacy
Does the EU have an exit plan? Do they know what they are going to do with UKer's working in the EU? Do they have a transition plan? Are they working towards protecting EUer's working in the UK? The EU seems almost as unprepared as the UK.

Merkels speech in Dublin today was definitely significant that the most powerful person in Europe sees Ireland as one country and analogous to her own country, despite the current legal position of NI: 'I personally come after all from a country that for many, many years was divided.... so I know only too well what it means once borders are banished... and that one needs do everything to bring about peaceful cooperation...'
