Re: Star Wars: Episode IX (2019)
Wish I’d done one for the TFA teaser or trailer.
The Star Wars fanfare and falcon tearing into that loop I remember clearly jumping out of my chair and hollering then crying like a baby.
Same with the ‘chewie, we’re home’ moment. Floods of tears.

I’m going out into stupid now but could we see a teaser this week with the title and full trailer on Friday?
Know the way teasers for the trailer are a thing sometimes?

I legit thought about that, too. But I really don't think so. I think they want maximum impact on Friday.dimejinky99 wrote:I’m going out into stupid now but could we see a teaser this week with the title and full trailer on Friday?

I agree. I also think it is going to be a really good, if not nostalgic trailer in an attempt to get some good publicity.durdencommatyler wrote:I legit thought about that, too. Yeah, I’m guessing they’ll go all in for Friday.

So the episode IX panel is Friday at 5pm our time.
11am Chicago local time.
Not sure what that is in all your time zones.

So there’s a dodgy photo out there with the ‘title’ on it.
I’ll take any bullshit news at this stage but as a title it sucks if true

Wouldn’t be surprised if something did leak, but if I were to bet, I don’t think that is the title.

I hate if it did leak before time.
But if it’s gonna happen it would be this week.
Not buying that title either but same time a weird sinking feeling about it

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX (2019)
Whatever the title ends up being, I personally hope it really taps back into the Saturday matinee serial type stuff that inspired Lucas in the first place. Give me something more akin to "Attack of the Clones" or "The Empire Strikes Back". I'd love something evocative in that way.
Scrimshaw recently joked that he wanted a title like "The Curse of Kylo Ren" and I'm all for it. Not that exactly per se, but something in that same lane.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX (2019)
ForceCenter is pretty much the only Star Wars pod that I listen to. I adore it. And I agree with you about their dynamic. I also like what Landa brings to the table as a big fan who doesn't dive into the minutia and tedium that Ken and Joseph dive into. She's a great perspective to have to balance out their supers sweaty ultra nerdom.dimejinky99 wrote:Wow I forgot about their pod.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX (2019)
It’s a very long way away from the best pod out there but it’s good.
They’ve all become dull in this desert of no news.
Friday onwards you’ll see the best come forth again.

These are some interesting thoughts. Not exactly mine, but it made me think about it in a good way. I really see the appeal in those two previous titles.durdencommatyler wrote:Whatever the title ends up being, I personally hope it really taps back into the Saturday matinee serial type stuff that inspired Lucas in the first place. Re: Star Wars: Episode IX (2019)
It's the one I like the most. It's thoughtful, it's articulate, it's positive, and it celebrates Star Wars in a way that is interesting and fun for me. Joseph has a theater background and he approaches his criticism and insight from a point of view that makes sense to me, but all three of them are always presenting new and interesting thoughts/takes, giving me a new perspective on the work. So, for my money there really isn't anything better. But, as my mom used to say, that's why they make strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate.dimejinky99 wrote:It’s a very long way away from the best pod out there but it’s good.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX (2019)
I've listened to a few ForceCentre eps and they're okay. As a surface level SW fan I doubt there's any pods out there for me so I'm happy with just the film ones that FC do around the release.

Yeah force center is definitely one of the more thoughtful and positive ones out there.
I can’t remember why I dropped off from them
