TV: The Walking Dead: World Beyond

Post by CopperTom »

The new spinoff sounds so unnecessary. 42 Sundays of some type of Walking Dead next year. Plus the "movie." Too much. :shake:

Spinoff could be a Future Judith series

I'd prefer if it featured Clementine. IMO, the best TWD character across all mediums.

Is this show popular enough to support three separate series?

It’s still the #1 drama on cable and #2 drama overall. It’s too much of any franchise though.

It supposedly is a "twist" on the movie The Village

The last few episodes were pretty good, the best of the series. However, they didn’t really conclude the series very well. The doctors were not yet safe, protagonists didn’t make it to Portland, military wasn’t exposed, and Silas became a soldier. I’m glad they confirmed the “A” and “B” groups from like 5 seasons ago in TWD. Once Jadas was introduced, I was fully expecting at least 1 scene with Rick in the finale. The series definitely benefitted from a smaller cast.

It was very surprising that they finally stated the zombie virus was man-made. Very nice touch that Dr. Edwin Jenner was brought back too. I know at one point, there was going to be a European based comic series, was that scene the introduction to that? Or were they simply introducing super-zombies to be used in a future series or movie? Maybe Toledo was mentioned given it’s proximity to the Commonwealth? I should have watched Talking Dead.

Did you miss some of the end? The docs are safe, they were shown setting up the new lab.

And Iris and her crew did make it to Portland. That's what she saw when she looked through the binocs. It's assumed that she has told them of what the CRM did.

And from everything I saw, this virus was created in Europe. The graffiti on the duct said "The dead were born here". As shown, their dead are way more animated, more like the "28 Days Later" type walkers. So it's possible their scientists tried to fix things but made them worse.

I binged this season instead of going week to week, which I'm glad I did. The pacing would have too slow for me otherwise.

And I def though there would be some sign of Rick somewhere as he's in this timeline, not on FTWD's.
