Of course it is Ed. Fuck it, the rest of the guys should find someone else and just form a new band. They all played so loose and fun when they recently toured as TotD. The rest of them work so well together and feed off of each other. I wouldn't hate it if they took a break from Ed just to make a record with someone, then come back in a year or two and tour again.

I thought that Jill Vedder said something along those lines on Instagram yes.

That's what everyone thought after he said that in South-Africa. But apparently Jill Vedder mentioned it was a about her brother-in-law, so Ed's brother.

Ed's brother dying, and us learning about it something like 2 years later means us fans truly do not know what is going on.

That bit of news was truly shocking to me. Who knows how that effected them? Maybe there's there's music reflecting this, maybe it caused writers block, maybe depression, who the heck knows? It shows how little we know, and how overwrought some people's observations are about given how little we actually see of these guys.

Its also true that the band itself is saying they havent been doing stuff and they dont really know why.

I'm thinking, whatever it is, they have a pretty good idea as to why, it's just that this is a private group of people and they'll never say it to the press.

You'll never hear them say, "yeah Ed's going through a debilitating depression and writer's block" or "Mike's just not feeling the band right now" or "Stone's kid is sick" or whatever. That's just not how they operate.

This is the band that initially gave the reason being Dave A's firing as: "he wants to study music". Only reason we ever knew Dave A was fired and all of that is b/c Dave A came out a few days later and gave the real scoop. If that didn't happen, we would've bought the music studying thing all of these years and there would have been thousands of pages of comments on it right here on this board.

yeah, thats why Jeff´s comments are weird. He seems to be sharing a lot by saying ¨i want to make more music with the band but for a reason thats not happening¨...the same with Stone saying kinda the same.

Im sure there are a lot of reasons in the past they wont discuss with the press, as always, but somehow that Rolling Stone article with Jeff and Stone after the Cornell tribute sounded different.

They are referring to Chris Cornell I don’t believe Vedder has a brother named Chris.

Not sure if it's because it's a radio rip so it impacts the quality, but it's sounding raw and less polished than Backspacer/Lighting Bolt. Chorus is a bit blergh though, EV still trying to aim for those notes that he can't do anymore. But I'm digging it.
