I really want a full trailer. I dont quite get the whole Rey vs Kylo in the desert sequence in the teaser. After that its all cool.

I get what Joe´trying to say. And i feel him yeah...LV´s been posting here about the trailer of a movie he claims to hate since it was released. He seems to enjoy talking trash about SW in pretty much every thread.

I dont really care about his comments on SW, but i understand if someone feels like its too much.

durden is definitely overreacting, but loathed also needs to understand that folks of a certain age can be quite emotionally invested in Star Wars.

And you need to understand that adults becoming fragile children if anyone says anything remotely critical about their Disney movies is deeply funny

You know what Abrams movie is really good? Mission: Impossible III. Man I was really impressed by how well that held up when I revisited recently. Kinda scared to watch Super 8 again though.

Mission: Impossible III is amazing. It has a lot to do on how good those movies become after the awful second part.

I dont think there is a JJ movie i dislike.

I was really sceptical about the Star Trek reboots, but thought he handled the characters, humour and feel brilliantly in his two movies. Stories could have been better and felt a bit copied from the past, but the action was superb. Could have written almost the exact same thing about TFA. All in all I’m a fan of those three movies.

I absolutely hated his Trek movies and think he totally got the property wrong. But I also thought what he tried to do there might work well with Star Wars since they’re very different properties.

I can see that. He did neglect certain parts of what makes Trek unique. But I fully stand by my conclusion. The movies were really fun, and he captured something vital, in the Kirk/Spock/Bones relationship.

I’m also confident that IX will be the best movie in the sequel trilogy.

I think the fact that it’s the end of a nine movie saga, gives JJ a lot to work with. There is still plenty of room for these characters, and the actors seem happier this time around. It will be a solid movie.

Yes, and I think a core part of why I hate TFA (and expect to hate this, though it’s possible I won’t) is because what makes the OT meaningful to him does not seem to be what makes it meaningful to me. We both grew up on those movies, but they seem to mean different things to us. Or at least his approach to recapturing or expanding upon that meaning seems misguided to me.
