Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
I've said this before, but I strongly suspect they announced the album when they did because they had to announce the tour and needed to make it clear that it was in support of a new album. I'm sure they were still putting their finishing touches on it when they made the announcement (artwork, sequencing, etc). I doubt they are going back to the drawing board or doing anything major

If that is true I hope they got the message.broken iris wrote:The Cold Concession / LIR leaks could have been testing the waters to see if those tracks should be on the album.

I doubt they were involved in it. Also, since we have these songs I'd prefer they not be on an album based on the Ole principle.Monkey_Driven wrote:If that is true I hope they got the message.broken iris wrote:The Cold Concession / LIR leaks could have been testing the waters to see if those tracks should be on the album.

And the message wasn't drastically different on pearljam.com than it was here (because you can sure as hell bet that their market research is entirely pearljam.com-based.)Monkey_Driven wrote:If that is true I hope they got the message.broken iris wrote:The Cold Concession / LIR leaks could have been testing the waters to see if those tracks should be on the album.

With MYM, CC, LIR, Of The Earth and even LB on it, which I'm beginning to accept as a quality tune despite its poppiness and earworm characteristics, this could be one hell of an epic record. Plus everyone is talking about Sirens being a great song, plus that soundcheck one is also looking quite promising at least... Shit, Pearl Jam, dont fuck this one up, do the right thing, please

It amazes me that no one has been able to track how, why and who leaked these. Couldn't the properties on the songs be traced to the original drop point? Can't we pull an ip address? Replacements are back together. I dont even care about PJ right now. With a massive switch in my fandom over the past 2 years it feels odd. Im sure this will all ramp back up come early october but right now my excitement is elsewhere.

Maybe this can be a thread / poll: the state of your fandom before and after the new album.Strat wrote:Replacements are back together. I dont even care about PJ right now. See with those 2 I wouldn't mind if they were on an album because they would suggest a tone that I'd be pretty happy with. And I like them enough that I wouldn't be wondering if they're hiding better songs somewhere, these are the better songs.stip wrote:I doubt they were involved in it. That said I don't think they're gonna be on there.

Yeah, I'd never pose that question to kurtleon. It wouldn't be fair.warehouse wrote:kurtleon got them. i dont think he's at liberty to say where he got them from.Coach wrote:It amazes me that no one has been able to track how, why and who leaked these. But in this day in age with the NSA, wikileaks, FB/Twitter hacks, etc., etc., I gotta believe a decent - I dunno what to call it - hacker maybe? - can find out where these came from....
