Re: 2013 tournament II: Begin Working On Playlists
Do most people actually listen to the playlists? Just curious if its worth going through the effort of putting it in audacity and doing all that business.
Should we be making 1 long mp3 with the entire run of songs or can we share just the individual track list?
I have mine up on my Google Drive ready to share with anyone that is wanting to download and listen.

What is the easiest way to make the playable playlist in my signature?

Is there any particular program or site people use to make their playlist?

Re: 2013 tournament II: Begin Working On Playlists
I probably won't actually listen until the final few rounds when the voting gets really tough and I feel like my vote requires at least one listen to each playlist.
But even then, for the first tournament I didn't rely on any of the mixes that were posted. I set up a playlist on my ipod since I already had about 95% of the songs on there already.

Is there anyone here on a Lightning Bolt blackout? I ask/warn just because I took the song Lightning Bolt and don't want to ruin anyones album plans by accidentally hearing that if I do make my playlist available.

it is a lovely, unfairly maligned song. Your team is stronger for it.Monkey_Driven wrote:Just Breathe
It goes well with my playlist and I've always had a soft spot for the verses.

Re: 2013 tournament II: Begin Working On Playlists
Songs I almost drafted that weren't picked:
The Fixer
Acoustic 1 (I have been loving that lately--eddie sounds so good on it, and it would have closed out my playlist)
Songs I would have gladly taken if not for the fact that they didn't fit:
Come Back (I had black and so hardly needed it)
Last Kiss (fuck all of you, this is a great cover)

Last Kiss is really an awesome song. It was overplayed, but that doesn't take away from it's greatness.

Agreed. There is a reason why it went from being a fan club single to a massive hit. It's damn good.HardTI wrote:Last Kiss is really an awesome song. It was overplayed, but that doesn't take away from it's greatness.

Re: 2013 tournament II: Begin Working On Playlists
my playlist tells the story of someone lost and alone who gradually learns to take stock of their life and move past all the shit that has dragged them down (if your team is as early 90s top heavy as mine is you don't have many options) I was originally going to have there be a third party who guided them through this (when i drafted save you) but then I really needed force of nature to make that work, and I didn't get it. So I moved away from that story a bit.
But if I did have force of nature I was going to draft last kiss for my final song
person a is lost
person finds their way back through person B guiding them and not giving up on them
happy en...oh no, person b just died in a car crash. Oh well.

Yea, I'm on blackout, but I'll still give you bonus points for having the guts to pick LB!HardTI wrote:Is there anyone here on a Lightning Bolt blackout? Re: 2013 tournament II: Begin Working On Playlists
I think I have my playlist.
Made a few minor changes from my original list, just listened, and the flow is nice.
I don't tell any story or anything, I was more concerned with how one song flows into the next.
Do I just list it here? I have no idea how to make it into one of those MP3 things for everyone to listen to. Platy / Chud, can you help me out?

PM a list to Doc. We'll have them displayed in the main pages, as well as links to an actual playlist if/when they exist.

Re: 2013 tournament II: monkey_driven and melonhead4 round
I'm actually using the original ten versions of black and why go instead of my preferred RVM black and ten redux why go just because those versions are too loud around the other songs.darth_vedder wrote:I'm having some trouble with the sequence. Some songs just don't flow well into others, Out Of My Mind being a live track kinda messes with the vibe, and Puzzles & Games really sounds incomplete next to the other songs.
On the other hand I didn't have a chance to give the new version a good test so maybe it's not any better.

My prob with P&G is the exact opposite. It's too quiet around the other songs. Still, I think I found a nice home for itstip wrote:I'm actually using the original ten versions of black and why go instead of my preferred RVM black and ten redux why go just because those versions are too loud around the other songs.darth_vedder wrote:I'm having some trouble with the sequence.
