It was interesting. Clearly a very talented guy. Easy to see how many of his designs became reality.

Re: Star Wars: The Sequels
He’s brilliant.
He’s also Vice President of Lucasfilm I think? Could well be taking over once Kennedy does step down.
There’s no way in the universe those assholes out there can say anything about him like they have with Kennedy ‘ruining star wars’ bullshit.
He’s got the pedigree and the chops to bring it.

Stupid people («fans») will always say stupid things. But from that hour I did get a great impression of him. I’m sure he will do well whatever role he has.

Yes, the TLJ one is superb, but they are all good.
Here's the second teaser from TROS.

The Force Awakens theatrical poster was released on the 18th of October 2015, while The Last Jedi theatrical poster was released on the 9th of October 2017. I expect we will also see a theatrical poster for The Rise Of Skywalker in October.

Re: Star Wars: The Sequels
I guess this is the best place to put this. Surprisingly, Lucas wasn’t a fan of where Disney was planning to go. However, his description of the Whills suggests he hadn’t abandoned his whole midichlorian idea at all. He was right, tho. A lot of fans would’ve hated it.

Re: Star Wars: The Sequels
I think they sound like mostly good ideas, but very difficult to tell what it would have ended up as. I liked the prequels and the expanded canon (like Clone Wars) though, even with their flaws.

Re: Star Wars: The Sequels
This honestly sounds awful
Lucas added: “[The next three Star Wars films] were going to get into a microbiotic world. But there’s this world of creatures that operate differently than we do. I call them the Whills. And the Whills are the ones who actually control the universe. They feed off the Force.”
The Whills were, as established by Lucas in the earliest drafts of Star Wars, an order of immortal beings who controlled everything through the Force. “Back in the day, I used to say ultimately what this means is we were just cars, vehicles for the Whills to travel around,” Lucas continued. “We’re vessels for them. And the conduct is the midi-chlorians. The midi-chlorians are the ones that communicate with the Whills. The Whills, in a general sense, they are the Force.”

And to be honest, I am too.
It seems like I’ve read some of the older material in which he kinda describes the Whills and it was nothing like this. I know his first working title was The Journal of the Whills so that name and some idea about them has been around for a long time, but I seriously doubt this is what he had in mind.

Re: Star Wars: The Sequels
Disney’s sequel trilogy ultimately incorporated ideas that resembled Lucas’: Lucas once envisioned a female Jedi Padawan, “Kira” — eventually materialized as Daisy Ridley’s Rey — and an aged and exiled Luke Skywalker, played by a returning Mark Hamill. The story between an in-training Rey and reluctant teacher Luke in Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi was inspired in part by Lucas’ original concepts, with the “Jedi Killer” character imagined by Lucas earlier being realized as The Force Awakens villain Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).
Lucas commented on his plans for the sequels in 2018. As Lucas told it, the trilogy was “going to get into a microbiotic world,” exploring a “world of creatures that operate differently than we do.”
“I call them the Whills. And the Whills are the ones who actually control the universe. They feed off the Force,” Lucas said. “If I’d held onto the company I could have done it, and then it would have been done. Of course, a lot of the fans would have hated it, just like they did [Episode I of Lucas’ prequel trilogy] Phantom Menace and everything, but at least the whole story from beginning to end would be told.”

Re: Star Wars: The Sequels
I think it's a safe bet to say that GL's ideas for Star Wars have evolved over time, and are completely different now than what he first envisioned 40+ years ago.
I'm even sure his PT ideas changed and evolved right up to when he started writing the first draft for TPM.
