I actually have a captain phasma kotobukiya figure JJ gave my brother to give me. They have each other’s number. I might look into that

I’m beginning to think Palpatine is a misdirect. This one is about Anakin
‘Lord Vader....Rise’

That would begin to make things right.
And tie all the trilogies together perfectly.

I don’t know what to say or feel about this. But it makes sense
Palpatine isn’t the only one Comin back in IX

That "report" seems sketchy as hell.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
Making Star Wars are never wrong is the thing. They don’t report it until they get it confirmed from a couple of different sources. They seem to have someone at Pinewood and possibly Lucasfilm that leaks them stuff. But since before TFA came out I can’t think of a single time or even detail they’ve reported on and gotten wrong. Especially the big stuff like this. They’re also the go to for all the clickbait sites who take their work and steal it effectively.
Wish I could avoid their site and stories altogether and go in fresh but they’re such a big player they’re impossible to avoid.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
i dont think its that big of a stretch to imagine a han solo appearance of sorts.
Though what i dont like about it is my gut tells me its JJ relying too much on nostalgia rather than forging his own story and movie. Its no secret how much i love the ST thus far, but TFA was absolutely a safe fucking movie. People ragged on him for that, and then Riann took it in a complete opposite - unsafe - way and he get shit for that too but i much more respect that than JJ relying on old relics and nostalgia trips to make us feel safe and secure.

I'm a little worried in the opposite direction, that we'll get another TLJ. But mostly I have faith in JJ that he will deliver a movie that is more true to the history and traditions of Star Wars. Obivously it's important that the story also moves forward, but that won't be a problem.

Palpatine's laugh and what it means, a Han flashback(?), trying to "correct" The Last Jedi, the rushed writing/production schedule, trying to play it "safe", an underwhelming teaser trailer (IMO), force ghosts, etc.Anders wrote:Why?Monkey_Driven wrote:I have a bad feeling about this movie.

I loved the teaser trailer. What didn't you like about it?Monkey_Driven wrote:Palpatine's laugh and what it means, a Han flashback(?), trying to "correct" The Last Jedi, the rushed writing/production schedule, trying to play it "safe", an underwhelming teaser trailer (IMO), force ghosts, etc.Anders wrote:Why?Monkey_Driven wrote:I have a bad feeling about this movie.
It's difficult to talk about in certain terms before seeing the movie. I do however, believe that whatever they do with Palpatine, that it was planned from very beginning. It could very well just be a hologram/video message or some sort. I don't want a force ghost fight either, but doubt we will get it. There was certainly nothing in the teaser to indicate that. Rather Luke tells Rey that's it her fight now.
I won't even get into TLJ, as we probably had opposite views on that movie.

I absolutely LOVE Star Wars and the trailer left me cold. We've seen desert landscapes before. Luke's voiceover was great and hopefully a theme of the film, but Palpatine's laugh just brought it all down. The movie itself could turn out to be fine or great, but my reception to the trailer is likely due to my fatigue for the pre-release hype of these blockbuster movies and the leaks/interviews about its content.Anders wrote:I loved the teaser trailer. I generally like JJ Abrams' films, but they don't hold the same staying power as the other films in this saga.
TLJ has tons of flaws, but it dares to be different and succeeds in a lot of ways.

I’m betting the farm that the Palpatine element is two things. Hugely overstated and a total misdirect.
This is JJ. A man who doesn’t give anything away at all beforehand. Nothing whatsoever.
Palpatine in the trailer is classic ‘look over here ignore what my other hand is doing’.
And the shots in the trailer mirroring not only the phantom menace trailer but also the first TFA trailer too.
Don’t worry. This one will be awesome.
And you’re Lucky MD having low expectations cos it can only surpass them on the night.
