Yeah ROTJ is kind of a total mess.

Watched the first 45 mins of this (up to Obi-Wan ghost) with my son today. First time he's seen it. Ended the morning with an hour of light sabre battles in the back yard.

Said it before and I’ll say it again.

The opening of ROTJ is still my favourite of all of them.

It starts with a cool empire intro and Vader being for fucks sake.

Something they crafted well. It’s Anakin you hear talking when he says ‘you may dispense with the pleasanteries commander...’

All that bit.

It’s cocky smug grin Anakin Skywalker from Clone Wars.

Luke is so mature and strong here. Just like I remember him.

From the two previous films where he wasn’t?

Luke is definitely a different person in VI. He changed and grew and developed.
Glad they kept they going when they picked up again

Yes, he is a lot more mature and well trained in VI, than he ever was in IV and V. Don’t agree with his role in TLJ, but again, that’s probably a different discussion.

The scenes on Endor were my favorite as a kid. They still have their moments.

I have problems with Luke in jabbas palace

He has nothing to fear and he lets the plan play out.

Why does he have to throw the rock at the door release?
He could just open it with the force.

Why even be afraid of the rankor?

Would have been so much cooler if he was calm collected and together the whole time.

There are many problems with the whole film. It seems that they went with the issues to get to the cool payoffs. The Sarlac scene is worth all the crap beforehand. Luke could have strolled into Jabba’s Palace, been a boss and strolled out with all his mates. Yet we got what we got.

Also noticed the blatant Han boob grab this time. Didn’t notice that as a kid.

I only heard about this on some podcast this very week and I’ve never noticed it.
Their affair was long over at this stage, meaning Fisher and Ford, so it’s a really odd moment.
I’ve never noticed it I will keep an eye out next time.
