Re: The Doors
I love The Doors. They were the first "real band" I got into. I think I got some Doors cassettes for my twelfth birthday. They're still up there for me.

Watching the Oliver Stone movie was the first time I can remember being able to clearly elucidate why and how much a movie sucked

Re: The Doors
my favorite Doors moment was in Drawing 1 class in my art major. we were tasked with drawing a door. any door, anywhere on campus. on the due date we all hang our drawings up on the wall to critique, and some dumbass had drawn Jim Morrison

Re: The Doors
I was into them a lot in high school and college. In my early 20's though, I started really branching out with classic rock and got into all the great Brit Invasion bands, plus started really getting into Hendrix and Zeppelin. During this time, I was also getting really really into Pearl Jam, and venturing off on things that influenced them and Nirvana (Sonic Youth, Neil Young, The Who, Fugazi, David Bowie, Tom Petty, REM, etc...). I also started digging deeper into hiphop (Beasties, Tribe, Wu-Tang, Eric B & Rakim, Jurassic 5 to name a few). With all that, The Doors took a backseat for like 15 years; I barely listened to them. Now though, I've kinda come back around to them. I don't think they'll ever be as important to me as they were from like 15 to 20, but they've worked their way back into the mix.Birds in Hell wrote:Counterpoint: I never much cared for the Doors when I was younger but I think they're great now.
