Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
It was VG that was all pumped and excited making us remember this is the run up to the last true Star Wars film and we should all enjoy it and take it all in. I’m on board 100% for that.
It’s a whole new thing coming down the tracks after this in the two new trilogies and they’re possibly two to four years away.
I’m gonna enjoy every second. The run up to a new film is all part of the fun.

Hopefully JJ pulls it off. He's a good choice to try and strike that balance.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
ANOTHER SUPER EARLY PREDICTION:
That ship we see in the trailer that may or may not be the same ship Rey sees in her vision in TFA... it IS the same ship. And we'll discover that it was never her parents piloting that ship. I think it'll be Keri Russell's character, but I don't think she's Rey's mom. I think she's someone who took Rey from her parents -- likely the person they sold her to for drinking money.
Keri's character will be the primary vehicle through which we learn the rest about Rey's parentage and why she was left with Unkar Plutt and her super Force powers.

Riffing off my jam but I like it better than my jam.
It could be a bit corny if Kerri was her mom

Yeah, your post definitely started me thinking about it. But I like Keri not being her mom and this is one way to jump off of what you said and keep Keri a new character that's important and meaningful without being related.dimejinky99 wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:ANOTHER SUPER EARLY PREDICTION:

The only other in for Kerri is that she’s a bounty hunter hired to track the rebellion down.durdencommatyler wrote:Yeah, your post definitely started me thinking about it. That’s crap.
Your idea is way way better. Could be like a shawshank reveal.
She meets someone in the rebellion or Rey and tells them she had a job once where she had to steal / hide a little girl on jakku

The only prediction I ever got 100% right was Yoda turning up in TLJ and he would knock sense into luke and physically hit him.
I have two podcasts I listen to that still mention that

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
I'm seeing some stuff online about the idea that the voices/visions/whatever that Kylo is getting from Vader's helmet in TFA are not Vader but Palpatine. And I kinda love that idea. It would make a lot of sense given Anakin turned at the end. Why would Vader/Anakin be "communing" with Kylo and encouraging a dark side turn? Seems weird.
But if the Emperor was somehow haunting Vader's helmet --- which we know is possible from the comics and canon novels --- that makes a lot more sense and I think it's pretty fucking cool.

Remember TFA. Kylo to the helmet. ‘Show me again. Grandfather. The power of the dark side ’
Then look at what they’re doing with the possessed helmet in Vader comic.
Palps is definitely haunting or trapped in something. Possibly the Vader helmet kylo has.
The melted Vader helmet is definitely in IX. MSW reporter it’s kept in a white room and kylo still had it
