You clearly have another gear you can pull out occasionally. You should tap into that and do some regular speedwork.
Do you have any recs on programs you'd recommend for that?
Mile or half-mile repeats are a good place to start.

Run at 90% for a mile or half-mile, rest for 2 minutes, then do it again. 4 to 8 times.

Yes, they suck. But it's worth it.

Increasing your leg turnover is the key to getting faster.

This sounds exciting. I think I'm going to give this a go next week.

So Reid's streak only lasted 6 days.

What a pathetic loser.

Way too much drinking at my kid's show last night. Only thing that got me out on a run today is the challenge. That's two weeks in the books. Note to self, no more ten drink nights during challenge.

Not gonna lie, the heat killed me this last week. Had two runs in 90-degree heat and it was tough.

Usually don't really suffer until the 100s. I'm getting soft. :/

Pfffft! I suffer if it's above 68. You're still a golden god, buddy.

It's race week, MFers! It's time to...rest! And maybe run a little...at a comfortable pace!

I hate to be that guy, but there was an insanely hot woman running next to me today at the gym and I just had to pick up the pace a little.

Man, today's run sucked. I got through it and that's about all I can say. Day off tomorrow and I'm fucking stoked about it.

Only if they are the exact same model as the shoes you trained in.

I've never even tried on this model.

That's just a bad idea.

Some shoes just rub you the wrong way and will give you hot spots and/or blisters.
