But, are the creators even interested in "shocks" anymore. There hasn't been a real shocking moment since it went off book. I don't think that's the primary focus anymore. The focus is (and should be) on wrapping up the story and concluding the journey. The shocks don't matter anymore.

I would be surprised, and disappointed, if there was not at least one "holy shit" moment the next few weeks.

I had high expectations for this episode and it exceeded it by leaps and bounds

Still catching my breath, was hoping for a little more white walker fight action, but that was still pretty epic. Most of the episode was dark as hell though, need to adjust the brightness a bit on my TV next time I watch it.

Pretty mesmerizing episode. That last ten minutes was especially dark. I was wondering how are the good guys are get out of this..and then that happened. Almost too tidy and neat resolution but still three more weeks where anything can happen.
Fewer battlefield deaths than I expected, even with some MIA.
Looking forward to reading some of the online write ups tomorrow.

Really? There was not one holy shit moment in the whole episode. They did a marvelous job of building the tension and it culminated when all of the swords were extinguished. Then it was just predictable fan boi bullshit that was filmed in a fashion that was like trying to play a gameboy at the beach. Arya giving the Night King the death blow was the least satisfying moment in the show’s history. This was not even her fight. That is with Cersei. Sure was aw some to see Ghost just fucking standing there, though. Hard to decide if Avengers or this was the biggest wet fart of the weekend.
