Saw Pulp Fiction, and now I’m watching Garden State.

Have seen PF many times, but not in years. It was as good as ever.

Loved GS the couple of times I saw it in the 2000s. However, I don’t feel like it’s as good as it was back then.

Pulp Fiction is one of my favorite movies. Top 20.

Garden State has a really good soundtrack, but was mostly just a random pick.

Pulp Fiction was unbearable when I revisited it recently. Just awful.

You are too young to understand what it meant back day.

Not having seen it for 4-5 years, I was afraid it had lost something in time. But it was better then the last time I saw it. Samuel L Jackson, Travolta, Willis, Keitel, Thurman and Rhames. The acting is wonderful. Got some really good Tarantino dialogue as well. The mood is just right, soundtrack throughout the movie is stellar.

When it comes to Garden State, it’s not great. But I do like movies like these where someone travels home after a while (Grosse Point Blanke, Beautiful Girls), or the sort of drama/comedy often with some romance, that doesn’t go full Hollywood, and has a good soundtrack (The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, Singles).

Beautiful Girls is a personal favorite. Timothy Hutton rules so much there. Oh and the soundtrack...Fool To Cry. What a movie.

Yeah, i get that. I remember being ok, i dont think i stand the main guy much.

Yes, I think I should see it again soon. Been a few years.

Its a great winter movie. And i actually could relate to that character more now than back then.

Pulp fiction and usual suspects are kind of weird. Like certain albums or bands you obsessed about when you’re younger but you’ve moved on and can’t really go back and if you do they just don’t make you feel the same way. You might even end up wondering why you ever liked them.

That can certainly help. Not that I related much to the Pulp Fiction or Endgame characters, but that’s different. I do however, think that I related less to the main character in Garden State now, than I did in 2005. Which helped change my view of the movie.

I do actually feel that way about Usual Suspects. Not Pulp Fiction.

There’ll always be exceptions of course.

Pulp Fiction has always been overrated in my estimation. It's fine but nothing I ever really loved. There are really good scenes, there are really terribly scenes. I've seen it three times and each one had left me feeling the same way.

Garden State, however... :luv:

Garden state is like one of those hokey 90s indie flicks right? That was a weird time. Ethan hawke in films like before sunrise and drek like true romance. Slop for gen Xers as the entered sophomore years
