Bad design and I don't like the word "pungent." It has a negative connotation. "Hoppy" is a great smell/taste.

But most of the Midwesterners on the board have a history of slobbering on anything Bell's or Founders.

Also, I'm pretty
on Founders. I do however really like that Azacca IPA. I had that for the first time the weekend before last and was pretty surprised. I also am in love with their porter.
None of it is as good as anything I've had from Bell's though.

I'm not blaming you, most Midwesterners feel a need to prove their upbringing (and everything they like) is awesome.durdencommatyler wrote:Don't blame everyone else for my failings, bub.run2death wrote:But most of the Midwesterners on the board have a history of slobbering on anything Bell's or Founders.

Ugh. SN clearly makes stuff that's better than All Day and Centennial and it's generally cheaper.
Also, Breakfast Stout is NOT a "year round" in many/most parts of the country.

Weird. I'm not sure that I share that experience.run2death wrote:I'm not blaming you, most Midwesterners feel a need to prove their upbringing (and everything they like) is awesome.durdencommatyler wrote:Don't blame everyone else for my failings, bub.run2death wrote:But most of the Midwesterners on the board have a history of slobbering on anything Bell's or Founders.
I didn't even have Bell's until I moved to New York. My love of that company and its product has fuck all to do with it being a Midwestern company.

SN? Is that Sierra Nevada? I love their stuff, too. I would personally agree that most of the Sierra Nevada IPAs I've had are better than the All Day and the Centennial. But not by a wide enough margin to make a fuss out of. For my money, I do think the All Day is a tad overrated and I'm a bit tired of seeing it on every menu in Brooklyn. But it's a good beer.run2death wrote:Ugh. SN clearly makes stuff that's better than All Day and Centennial and it's generally cheaper.

I'm just glad I live in a place that gets Modern Times, Pizza Port and Bear Republic distribution.

The question was founders or bells, not SN. Beyond that, breakfast stout is available year round. I didn’t mean to imply those were my favorite beers, they aren’t. They’re just my favorites from Founders, which I prefer to Bells, with the exception of Two Hearted.run2death wrote:Ugh. Breakfast Stout is absolutely NOT available year-round in the West.

I think we should stop calling each other names and just take a second to reflect on the goodness of the Founders Porter.
