A: No, the process is irreversible. Even if you have returned it to its original location, you wouldn't be able to get the person back. In fact, it's not really returning the stone, more like put it back properly. The tribute soul for the soul stone will forever be sealed in that place, therefore Black Widow is gone forever.
Which confirms original Gamora can't come back, right?

If they go for the feels it won’t be as big feels as this, if they go for the bittersweet it won’t land like this, they can only go for happy ending. And that’s gonna be lame.

I can’t believe you posted this.

I want it to be otherwise. I’d be a regular casual fan of the MCU and nowhere nearly as invested as I am with Star Wars. I just can’t see them finding a way to draw all three trilogies to such a satisfying momentous close as this was. I hope I’m wrong but right now I can’t see it happenning.
You’re right, and that’s because TLJ didn’t do as good a job as Infinity War. I still prefer Star Wars to Marvel.

Well mileage totally varies on that. They’re incomparable works in many ways. The only thing they do have in common is that they’re ending, really.

Infinity War did a great job of setting up Endgame. Could really see it both here, with my friends, and in the cinema.

Yeah but we can’t say good or bad a set up TLJ is until we see IX. In fact I don’t think the same rules apply. We’re working in a three act structure, EG is a culmination of 22 parts.
Empire is an awful set up for ROTJ if you haven’t seen ROTJ. Our hero failed his training, nearly killed by his arch enemy, Han is dead for all we know, the rebellion are back where they started, on the run, and the film sorta has no proper ending.

If we had the internet back in 82 and two years to wait for the finale, empire would be getting torn to shreds and maybe rightly so.

Same exact thing applies TLJ/Rise

I was really just agreeing with what you wrote last page. If TLJ had done a better job, then IX would have no problem competing with Endgame.

You’re totally correct. That’s why I’m not as excited for RoS as I was for this one.

also that is SUCH a valley-bro accent. woah.

Unrelated thought:

Gamora and Loki are dead. There are 'alternate' versions of them out and about now and maybe they'll go into that in Phase 4 but for now it seems pretty official that the OG characters are dead. Which means that if we do see them again, it will be new characters without the growth we saw over their respective films - like we saw when Gamora kicked Quayle's ass. Or balls, whatever. It's kind of cool how they have characters grow and change like that in these movies instead of just being one-note characters that just get a new movie instead of a proper sequel.

Speaking of growth, I saw somewhere that basically Ragnarok/Infinity War/Endgame was a mini Hulk movie since they can't make a solo series with him.
quayle's ass deserved to be kicked for not being able to spell potatoe correctly

I would say the new star wars trilogy is not as planned and well executed than both of infinity war and endgame.

To be fair they have something like 60 years of hundreds if not thousands of storylines to choose from in the comics they cherry picked from and templated from. The gffa doesn’t have that but does instead have a lot of freedom for new stories in film.
(Watch the GOT guys will make knights of the old republic and all those incel manbabies lose their minds cos they don’t tailor the films to suit every one of those bastard whingebags personal demands).

I just remembered. The score that played at the very start (Tony and Nebula lost in space) and the very end (Tony's funeral) sounded so much like an orchestral version of Tom Waits's "Shiny Things".

in fairness, they were filmed i think at the same time (if not a majority of them both) so it stands to reason it would be very well crafted

Here's one thing I found odd: Thanos was able to wield Stormbreaker but wouldn't be able to use Mjolnir. Does one not need to be worthy to use the axe?

Makes sense: Odin didn't enchant Stormbreaker.
