I highly recommend Empire. Watched it again not too long ago. It's a great movie.

The Brits were kinda ahead of the curve around that time.
You had Trainspotting and all that dance culture coming out and really speaking to a generation in a real way.
Look over the way and there was nothing comparable really outside teen fluff movies for MTV generation.

Commitments was 1990/91. Wouldn’t put it in this category at all. Fucking Hilarious and touching film but again, the book was better. One of the funniest films ever made I’d say
