Re: The Running Thread
My choices are:
The Cliftons I've been training in. They're fine but have felt dead/heavy lately despite only having 100 miles on them. Safe choice.
The Claytons I wore on a 10 miler last weekend. They felt amazingly light and springy but gave me a blood blister around mile 9 (too narrow). Risky choice.
The new Mach 2. They fit like the Cliftons but feel as light as the Claytons. Will a 3 mile run tomorrow be enough to evaluate? Bold choice.

I'd go for the Cliftons and start on the Mach 2's next week. Good luck in your race.guestT wrote:My choices are:

Cliftons or just run barefoot and cross the finish line with bloody stumps and the admiration of your RM brothers.

Re: The Running Thread
34 days into biking or running everyday and last night running home was the first time I felt like some progress was made. Hopefully the next month brings more of that feeling. Been coasting on my bike rides, will start to hit those harder and cross my fingers I find improvement.
This thread has been good for me. Thanks guys.

My hip is holding up pretty good lately. Man, my legs were dead today though. I'm going to eat a whole pizza tonight so hopefully I'll have more juice tomorrow.

Watched the Pittsburgh 5k today
Winner did it in 17:35
I’ve never seen so many angry faces turning towards the finish line

Day 20 of the streak. I feel better now than when I started. I think the shorter runs and minimalist shoes are paying off.
Still putting in decent weekly mileage and my legs feel strong.

I'm with you. I think I can settle into and maintain 70km biking and 45km funning each week.run2death wrote:Day 20 of the streak.

Re: The Running Thread
Pretty happy with the result today considering the warmer-than-expected temps. Forecast called for rain so of course there wasn't a cloud in the sky all morning. Fought hard, passed a bunch of people down the stretch and didn't let anyone pass me. Finished just off the podium (lol) in 75th place (out of 1800). Went with the brand new Mach 2's and they felt great!
I've run three different half marathons in WI. Finishing times were 1:38:17, 1:38:00, 1:38:18. How's that for consistency?
