He can only have fun if it’s a transformers film directed by some obscure director nobody’s ever heard of.
Pretentious millennial nonsense. Just ignore him.
Mustn’t be anything on his 4k tonight

I’ve pulled a muscle in my side and I’m in agony and like a cripple the past few days. Walking is painful but I also have a head cold so coughing and sneezing are constant and like getting kicked in the side each time I have to. No idea what I pulled or how. I wish it would go away.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015)
So I watched this on TBS on May 4th last night...
There’s some good stuff that gets you excited for Star Wars again, and then there’s stuff that just pulls you out and reminds you that there was so much potential and they fumbled a bit.
I just can’t get past Starkiller base, and not just because it’s another Death Star. It’s the fact that they had the chance to start this new trilogy and had total freedom to start this storyline, and the move is “self contained” like ANH. ANH was self contained because GL didn’t know if others would be made. They knew they were making 7, 8 and 9 and had the perfect opportunity to mold the story so it spanned the three films.
And the whole Starkiller thing seemed to easy for the Rebels..er resistance. Like just another day at the office. I dunno.
Some dialogue seems out of place, and feels like the characters poking fun of their own sw universe instead of being a part of it. (Ie. “That’s not how the force works!”, “Garbage chute, trash compactor?”
Adam Driver as Kylo Ren is pretty great.
It is odd that Snoke basically says all the titles for episodes 7 - 9. I’m sure that when they were writing dialogue for Snoke they probably thought, hey his expositions make good movie titles.

Palpatine has always been in the blueprints for this trilogy.
Watch what’d you mentioned become Snoke being Palpatines hand/ ambassador in this realm.
Or something like it.
TFA is great fun. It did wmd does what it has to. Make us excited about Star Wars again.
Sure. They didn’t have to tread so heavy on old paths and footprints.
But they caught that spirit and sense of joy and adventure all over again.
It could have been an utter shit show in the wrong hands.
It wasn’t. They made a new Star Wars for a new generation.

I want to see TFA and TLJ back to back. Havent done it. I agree with a lot of what BlueViper says, specially with the potential of the movie and what they did, a more safe version of it.
I love how the movie looks, the sets, the practical effects and specially Harrison Ford.

Im watching this one.
The first sequence is so fucking good. The violence of the First Order, have we ever saw the stormtroopers being so violent? The movie looks gorgeous. And Kylo Ren is actually menacing.
