I thank everyone for their kind words. I realized that stopping music would severely handicap who I am, and the few people who do like the art I present. Here's to hoping that what I do from here on out can balance into a stronger end result.

You have a gift for melody. That's a life raft, friend.

Honestly, I completely get the frustration of nobody listening. I'm pretty proud of a song like Down, and how many people have ever heard it? Two or three dozen, half of whom probably just checked a sound clip?

But I also always have an undercurrent of "who gives a shit?" Dreaming about being a successful musician is a different thing from dreaming about making the music. It's a different thing.

Think of it this way: is it more important that she heard you say "I love you," or is it more important that you said it at all?

Good and well spoken advice. The desire to be known will never outweigh the need to be expressive. Emotion can temporary fog the idea, but through empathy I always come back to a progressive conclusion.
Thanks guy.

Recorded a new tune at my buddies place yesterday. Really stretched my vocals, and think they came out real nice. Added some drums and misc instrumentation today.

Really like this but the drums do my head in. Any chance of a copy without the beats?

Yeah, I like it a bunch. It reminds me of "Gravity" by Embrace with a less cloying vocal melody.

Words could not express the appreciation of all the positive comments. I'm glad you guys are digging the track, I still have a smile on my face.

Nice one dude. Hopefully you get an opportunity to lay down enough for an ep or album one day.

About 5 years ago I laid an album's worth of songs with my old band in a proper studio. It was a nice experience, but I didn't like the glossiness of the sound. Same thing happened with an EP we did prior to the album. The amount of demos and studio tracks I have on a big stack of CDs from the previous years, are staggering.

The one thing I've always done since age 18, through good or bad, is write songs. Starting around 20 I recorded everything. Sometimes on a four track recorder, sometimes on a hand held recorder. I have a digital recorder I now use. Every so often I fill it up, and transfer all the files to my computer. For some reason I hold onto all these tunes, many of them never worked on.

Whitey, I'd give my left testicle for you to open the vaults.
