Wasn’t a big fan of the comic. Didn’t figure I’d like the movie any better.

I like the movie, but it's got a slightly different plot than the comics and shifts in context for some of the more political ideas presented there. If suffers from Snyderism though so be forewarned.wease wrote:Wasn’t a big fan of the comic. Didn’t figure I’d like the movie any better.

I don't revere Watchmen the way most comic aficionados do...I think its fine. Synder's Watchmen seemed pretty much definitive to me. I really don't see the point in doing it again unless someone really wants to see an ending just like the comic.

I'm a big Lindelof fan but this seems like a terrible idea. Judging from his Instagram posts, he has the same feeling.

...what?
Jeremy Irons as Adrian Veidt / Ozymandias is poor casting. He's supposed to be a prime human, not in decline and wanting to marry his son.

So what I'm getting from this is we're getting a decent score but that's about it.On May 22, 2018, Lindelof posted a five-page open letter to fans of the comic book series wherein he revealed that the television series would not be a direct adaptation of the source material or a sequel to it either but instead would depict a new, original story.[9] On August 17, 2018, it was announced that HBO had given the production a series order for a first season set to premiere in 2019.[10] On September 20, 2018, it was reported that score for the series would be composed by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.[11]

I'd rather have an original story than a TV version of the movie/graphic novel.Bi_3 wrote:I’ll try it, but an original story? UghMonkey_Driven wrote:I'll watch this.

I get the urge to do something original but give it a subtitle or something then so it's readily apparent that it's going to suck.

I don’t know if the characters translate well outside of the context of the original work and I worry it will just be too tempting to swap in Trump for Nixon.Monkey_Driven wrote:I'd rather have an original story than a TV version of the movie/graphic novel.Bi_3 wrote:I’ll try it, but an original story?
