Re: Rank The Pearl Jam Catalog
Man, this was a crazy fun exercise. Thanks for indulging me and/or for joining in. Hopefully, we'll see some more lists roll in eventually.
This has been awesome.

Re: Rank The Pearl Jam Catalog
Well, that was a complete waste of time!
TEN
Album ranking:
1. YIELD (32,91)
2. VITALOGY (41,1)
3. NO CODE (47,61)
4. BINAURAL (56,77)
5. TEN (60,73)
6. VS (64,83)
7. AVOCADO (87,92)
8. BACKSPACER (89,54)
9. RIOT ACT (90,2)
It turned almost the same as my regular ranking, with the only exeption being No Code at 2 and Vitalogy at 3. Makes sense since I didn't rank any of the fillers and No Code is a more uneven album (3 songs in the top 5 and 3 other songs near the 100th spot).
Another thing:
Top 5: 5 songs from Yiled and No Code.
Top 10: 7 songs from Yield and No Code. If we count Long Road, which is from the same era as well, that makes them 8.
Go Team Irons!

Listened to force of nature on the treadmill tonight, and i love that song so much that i can't believe its only 33 on my list, but even now looking over my big board, i can't move it up, least not yet, but if it holds up for me for a couple more years then im gonna have to drop a couple songs to make room for it

What is there to like about it? It's bland and nothing really happens.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:But seriously, what is there not to like about it?cutuphalfdead wrote:Fuck Force Of Nature.
I actually liked it when Backspacer first came out. It's fallen a lot since then though.

I just love the overall feel of the song, and when it starts out great then it doesn't have anywhere it needs to go. I love the kinda funky riff, the chorus, if i had a part i didn't love it would be the very end, but its just a couple of notes. I've had plenty of their songs that get kinda old quick but this one has not, and doesn't seem like its close to happening.cutuphalfdead wrote:What is there to like about it? I can't help it, guys! That song just sucks. I just wanna punch shit when I hear it. Don't think for a second that I don't know how much easier life would be for me if I just liked the thing.
