Was it The Matrix? Has there been anything since that had that kind of seismic impact?

I was recently talking about this with someone. On here, maybe? I can't remember, but it is a fun series to revisit. I may do it again soon so I can chat with you about it.

Sure!

I haven't seen any of those movies in a long ass time. But I adore the original. In fact, I saw it when I was 6 years old. I begged my mom to rent it and let me watch it. She said it would give me nightmares. I swore to her that it wouldn't.

It scared the shit out of me. I probably would have had nightmares if I'd slept.

But I didn't see it again for over a decade and when I did, I remembered every single scene. I couldn't quote it per se but it really stuck with me. Really, like no other movie has that I can think of.

Of course, I watched all the sequels up until Freddy v Jason. I've still never seen that one or the reboot. But I fucking adore that franchise.

I watched FvJ recently for the first time since it was released, I am a fan of both series and feel it holds up well as a send-off for both. The idea for a Jason/Krueger film had been tossed around since the late 80s and I feel the writers did a good job of representing both characters differences as well as their similarities.

I also enjoyed the shit out of Crystal Lake Memories and Never Sleep Again.

I would much rather have seen his version of Wolverine. The one we got was pretty terrible. I'm still shocked that people think it was a good movie.

My LV moment: Didn't really like Logan either. It was ok? I liked Origins better than either but I attribute that to the PS3 game being amazing and making the movie better in retrospect.

It’s weird to think about how when Iron Man came out 11 years ago, I loved it so much that I saw it twice in theaters and several more times on DVD, and I was really excited to see where the sequels would go. How things have changed.
