Re: Official RM Game of Thrones Season 8 Predictions Thread
So how does this thing end?
Danny sentences Jon to die, Jon survives the dragon fire bc he's a Targaryen, Arya kills Danny, Jon says "fuck this, I'm out" and goes back to the real north, Gendry becomes king.

I never said she wouldn't. I said I'd they did that it wouldn't makes sense and it would be completely stupid. And I watched that ep last night and sure enough!dimejinky99 wrote:Hey joe

She was actually worse in that episode than I have ever predicted, a real monster. But I was only afraid that the show would jump the shark on her in the opposite direction, and turn her into the messianic saviour that she never was.

This benevolent queen happy ending everyone adoring her would have made no sense whatsoever

Dany was never going to have a happy ending. But there was absolutely a way to do things differently that would have been satisfying. What we got isn't even a good version of the option they chose.dimejinky99 wrote:Anders wrote:She was actually worse in that episode than I have ever predicted, a real monster. Lots of people have judged her to be the hero of the story, no matter what actions she has done in the past. There is a good amount of backlash now, with people that have been cheering for Dany. But I can see no proper ending where she calmly ruled from the Iron Throne. And if that wasn't going to happen, everything about the character justifies her killing scores of people.durdencommatyler wrote:Dany was never going to have a happy ending. I think it was fine what we got. The problem with this season and last is that they were hell bent on ending it with 13 episodes. Two or three more episodes would have solved almost all the problems people are bitching about.Anders wrote:Lots of people have judged her to be the hero of the story, no matter what actions she has done in the past. Agreed. I think it was the other thread, but mf made the point that season 7 should have ended with the Battle of Winterfell. And, then this season focus on getting back to the core "games" story lines, it would have been much more satisfying way to wrap up the series.darth_vedder wrote:I think it was fine what we got. John Snow is the only one worthy to sit on the throne.
Also, nobody is going to sit on the throne. Everyone is a miserable and evil cunt at their core and there will always be chaos and destruction in this world. There will be no happy ending.

Pretty sure that chair is buried under a very large pile of rubble and probably not even still intact. There is no city left.Strat wrote:John Snow is the only one worthy to sit on the throne.

This is the rise of Dorne, baby.

Re: Official RM Game of Thrones Season 8 Predictions Thread
Alright, final predictions on this plays out....
Yara gets Varys' message and sails fight Dany. Dany, atop Drogon, kills her before Yara can do or say anything meaningful.
Jon goes to kill Dany. He can't do it. So Arya does. Arya goes to explore the lands West of West.
Then Jon goes back to Winterfell. Sansa demands Jon be tried and held accountable for betraying the North, not once, but twice. She sentences him to death. However, the people love the boring white dude too much to do anything bad to him, so they turn on Sansa and kill her instead.
Jon retires beyond the Wall to live with the Free Folk and Ghost.
Tyrion escapes to Dorn and makes wine. Bronn comes calling one day, demanding Tyrion pay his debts. Tyrion tells Bronn that he's no longer a Lannister, so that doesn't apply anymore. Bronn kills Tyrion and then goes off whoring.
Bran wargs in Drogon and kills him. Then goes to live in a tree where he jumps back into the past and discovers some big major secret that we never knew that could have prevented all of this but it's too late now.
Westeros decides that the Seven Kingdoms are better off as separate but equal "States." Each land has a "ruler" or a "head" of some kind.
There is no Iron Throne.

I always forget what minor things the show has changed but I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. I think we saw it happen to that pirate with the eagle.Bammer wrote:I agree that there is no iron throne.
If Bran wargs into a dragon (or any other creature) and that creature (the wargee) dies mid-warg, Bran (the warger) also dies. Or no?

Oh I have no idea. I just thought it was hilarious. i have to type and talk at work and fo stuff like that all the time, like I am supposed to be typing the caller's name into a form but they're talking about their health so the form is finalized as "Member: Stephen Meniscus Tear."durdencommatyler wrote:Wasn't that actor also in one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies?Simple Torture wrote:Did you mean "wildling" or did you really think that was a pirate?durdencommatyler wrote:I always forget what minor things the show has changed but I'm pretty sure the answer is yes.
