I actually plan to start the Online mode now too. Enough of the changes/additions have caught my eye (and I finally finished Sekiro).Revelator wrote:It's worth triple the original selling price IMO, definitely recommend buying when you have time to play. Speaking of which, I finally finished the main campaign 2 weeks ago (having started on the day it was released in late October). So I feel your pain on having time to play. Now, I'm just doing random exploration and side missions I never got to while completing the story. I'm actually tempted to try my hand at Red Dead Online now that they've allegedly moved out of beta this week....

Online is pretty fun. Community seems to be a mixture of teenage boys and adults who can actually communicate.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I haven't played it very much, but I'm having trouble getting into it. I don't like how my character doesn't talk in cut scenes and every mission I played so far was pretty boring.

The no talking is a turnoff for sure. There a ton of modes. Chances are there are a few you will like. I played one the other night that was a Battle Royale, where you only had tomahawks.tree_ wrote:I haven't played it very much, but I'm having trouble getting into it. The races are also kind of fun. I played one the other night where everyone had to race around and shoot targets. First person to shoot all the targets wins. You start with a bow and arrow and can pick up guns (with only a few bullets) along the way.tree_ wrote:That does sound like something I would enjoy.

That also sounds fun. I will have to try that, also.

I still haven't fired up Online yet but glad to hear the community is halfway decent. They've been adding a shit ton of content lately so it's definitely worth checking out. Cool to see characters from the Story added in as well (like Sadie's bounty hunter missions).

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
finally playing it, i think im like 33% right now and so far im a bit disapointed
i played AC Odyssey before this one and loved it much more
i dont know why, i loved the first RDR and all the GTA games
maybe its the lack of action so far, the big distances to travel via horse
little dialogue
i dont know, i hope it gets better for me

You're getting to the point where the game really clicked with me. It has a much more contemplative, slow pace that doesn't work for everyone.psychobain wrote:chapter 3..just moved to a new camp

Chapter 3 is when it really picks up. The end of 3 is i credible.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Yup, also the chapter where it finally clicked for me that Arthur is one of the best video game protagonists ever. I definitely get how people could be bored with this game, 10 years ago I probably would have felt the same. The world is so gorgeous though that I simply enjoy just exploring for an hour here and there. I haven't even been through all of New Austin yet and feel like I only really experienced pieces of West Elizabeth and Ambarino especially. I keep seeing new online modes pushed out everyday via my news feed so I really do need to give the online a whirlscrub12 wrote:Chapter 3 is when it really picks up. The end of 3 is i credible.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I'm playing Odyssey now and yeah i kind of feel the same way. It's a good game and the fight mechanics are really satisfying, but there are so many pointless fucking quests. I think i made the mistake of picking up too many of the radiant quests from the town message boards early on.Monkey_Driven wrote:I hated the grinding in AC Odyssey so much.psychobain wrote:finally playing it, i think im like 33% right now and so far im a bit disapointed

I just felt like I did the same fight over and over and over again. The enemies leveling with your character didn't help either. I may go back to it at some point because so many critics raved about it.mf wrote:I'm playing Odyssey now and yeah i kind of feel the same way. Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
yeah the auto leveling thing is kind of a mixed blessing. on one hand it's nice to be able to freely roam most of the map without getting totally outclassed, but on the other hand you're right the fights can get a little monotonous. I've found swapping out my preferred weapon to something new helps to keep things fresh.Monkey_Driven wrote:I just felt like I did the same fight over and over and over again. i did the same thing, only to learn after that most of them dont count towards 100%, its just for leveling up or Money
focus on the main story and atlantis, its an amazing game
it was the first AC game that i really loved it (i need to play Origins)

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
There's a ton of odd missions and easter eggs that I've barely scratched the surface too. I believe you're right though there's either an alien or oddball robot to be found out there somewhere from what I remember reading.....
Unfortunately I think chances are slim that we'll see Undead Nightmare 2 (or any other single player DLC/expansion packs), which is really a damn shame consider how beautiful and well crafted the world is.
