Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
Last night's Daily Show had one of the funniest segments I've seen on in a while. A Vermont cable station released all their episodes of a public access show then Burlington mayor Bernie Sanders had on in the late 80s. He sounds the exact same as today and looks only slightly younger despite only being in his mid 40s at the time. The clips they show are mostly his interactions with kids and they are unintentionally hilarious.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
New Amsterdam has been my favorite show in the 2018-2019 season. I'm pretty sure most critics hate this show, but I haven't been bothering to read any of that.
The show is full of cheesy old school feel-good tv tropes, but dammit if I don't want to cry after every episode. I find Dr. Goodwin's brand of idealism inspiring, though I do often laugh at loud at how impossible anything that he's ever pulled off in the show would be in America 2019. I'm glad it's been renewed for a second season, and even though I imagine the cliffhanger at the end of the season finale will resolve itself favorably, I still worry about some of the characters.

I've liked Tyler Labine since Reaper and I've been meaning to check that one out.

He's one of my favorite parts about the show. I fully expect most of RM to hate his character/the show though.bune wrote:I've liked Tyler Labine since Reaper and I've been meaning to check that one out.

The second season of Fleabag is great (although is this really the last season?) I really enjoyed the first season, but I found this one to be better by a considerable margin.

I am surprised it doesn’t have its own thread here.

Why is ABC broadcasting live remakes of an All in the Family & Jeffersons episode each tonight? I

I'm sure there's an actual article about it but what I recall is someone said, "The shows are crazy, you couldn't get away with that nowadays!" and someone saw that as a challenge and here we are.

I did watch it, from a nostalgic standpoint it was nice but after it was over I shrugged my shoulders. It was well cast and the actors were fine but it felt like you were watching a stage reproduction, which you were.
If you're wondering Jamie Foxx, who did a good George, blew a line and made a reference to it being live tv.
And they did bleep the n-word.

Original scripts; The Jeffersons was their pilot.wease wrote:Did they have new scripts or were they just doing old episodes?
It did well in ratings, winning its time slots on the last night of the broadcast season with over 10 million viewers. So don't be surprised if something like this comes back again as a special.

Catastrophe.
First season was weak, but I really like where they took it.

Been watching episodes of American Housewife and Fresh off the Boat here and there. I feel like ABC is experiencing a renaissance in family television that harkens back the days of the origins TGIF lineup.
