It’s a difficult time. Of course his response to this is “Democrats aren’t doing anything and only focusing their efforts on removing me” while on the other side of his mouth saying “I won’t agree to anything unless you stop investigating me.” Let’s just hope the Dems don’t just fall for it. They are similarly stuck in the trap of possibly overplaying their hand if they move towards an impeachment inquiry vs. looking weak if they don’t open an impeachment inquiry. Which brings me back to a former point: if you are going to be criticized no matter what you do, then just do the right thing and worry about the political outcome later.
