It's interesting. The lack of cohesion between tracks turned me off Backspacer even more than I already was. The songs might've felt even better if they were speaking to one another. I don't know, I just care about that shit. At least it feels as if they deserve more attention if they're not just thrown on the album at random.

Backspacer had two good song titles. Speed of Sound and Force of Nature. I kinda liked the fixer as a title for its silliness. Mind Your Manners and Swallowed Whole are strong titles. Sirens is probably good too.bodysnatcher wrote:on a superficial level, already liking these song titles much more than Backspacer **knock on wood**

I'm surprised you picked those two. Those were probably the titles I was most biased against because they just made me instantly think of Coldplay and Oasis respectively.stip wrote:Backspacer had two good song titles. Speed of Sound and Force of Nature.

I have a raging hard on for this album artwork. I'm 10x more excited for this album than I ever was for Backspacer. More tunes!

I didn't have songs I was associating them with, which probably helpsLament wrote:I'm surprised you picked those two. I'm just... pretty sure it comes courtesy of a random Google Images search.

Re: Lightning Bolt -- guess the tracks!
Hey guys, first post, I've been having trouble registering for some reason the past couple months, but it's fixed. I've been posting around here since 2009 and I've been lurking ever since.
Okay, so I've been listening to the soundcheck song lately and I could swear at multiple points, from what you can make out of Ed's vocals, it sounds like he's saying "low" or something like that. Now I think he might be saying "Swallowed Whole"
You can hear it twice in the song, the first at 36 seconds and then later in what seems to be the chorus after the solo at around 3:25, it sounds like he might be screaming "Swallowed Whooooole"
Of course I could be completely wrong but it just might be.

So does anyone think Jeff might've written 'Swallowed Whole'?
