It will be the sixth installment in the Terminator franchise, though it serves as a direct sequel to The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day, disregarding all other Terminator works as occurring in alternate timelines.

Might as well go back to the days after T2 because that was the last time we saw a terminator movie that wasn't an absolute piece of garbage

If Skynet was smart, it'd just send another terminator, any terminator, to the factory right after the melt Arnold. Why doesn't it plan its time travel more strategically?
