So it fell in line with conventional logic, you say? I don't know how to break this to you, chum, but that was exactly my point.

Stay confident and pompous, you guys. I pray for that every day. Your confidence blinds you.

Like... what Dems are confident and pompous right now? Even one of the dudes PJ wants to throw down with in this thread LITERALLY PREDICTED THAT TRUMP WAS GONNA WIN. How is that confidence?

I dunno if I fully agree with that but I have absolute faith that America is dumb enough to elect Donald Trump a second time.

It is quite something to claim that the candidate who lost the popular vote against a historically unpopular Dem and then got soundly walloped in the midterms, whose approval rating is consistently underwater, is going to win by a large margin. I do think the Dems can bungle this one but the idea that Trump has a broad base of support is, well, it's quite something.

I think, if I take all of my rage and terror and depression out of the equation, this is much more realistically where I land, as well. Except that last part. I think his actual support is pretty terrifying and not something to laugh at. But otherwise, all joking aside, I agree with you.

I think anyone who goes to a Trump rally should be put in a cage but I don't think his support is that broad. He has members of his own party trying to score political points by calling for impeachment--that tells you how strongly the wind is blowing in his direction (i.e. not very).

Have you ever seen a Trump rally? Sold out arenas. I think his base is just fine.

I want to make a nautical joke but I couldn't find a flag for wind changing direction constantly.

You do realize that in a country of 325+ million people, where even the largest sports arenas in major cities only hold 50k, the predicative power of this hovers just around zero, yes?
