Lebron to LA seems unlikely. Melo seems more realistic. Kevin Love and Paul George is the most likely outcome.

Not at all. Kobe isn't retiring after this season and I don't really think either of them wants to play with the other. If LeBron wants to be seen as one of the best ever (he seems to have embraced this goal) then what good does pairing with Kobe do? Let's say best case scenario happens and they win two more, now LeBron has 4 but Kobe has 7. And for Kobe I think he's way too competitive and selfish to step aside and unquestionably not be The Man. If they do win it could backfire for Kobe and remind everybody that Kobe can only really lay claim to two of his rings.
I'm not worried at all that the Lakers are "hoping" to get LeBron. I could see Melo going there if the Knicks suck again this season.

Can't see Melo sharing the ball enough to win a championship.
The Lakers have become the Mid 2000's Yankees lusting after other peoples superstars rather than finding new ones.
That coaching move was still one of the stupidest hires in the history of modern sport.

What the hell are the Bucks doing exactly? They just signed Zaza Pachulia to a 3 year 15 mil deal, the OJ Mayo deal makes no sense and they are probably going to give Brandon Jennings franchise money that he isn't good enough for. I almost feel sorry for them.....just move to Seattle and be done with it.

Celts gave up on Melo. Chances are he never would turn into a player but I hate to see them give up on a big man so quick. They tend to take a while to come around. Would have rather they move Crawford or something. There are a million guys like him. No takers probably.

Agreed, and I was sad to see Gary Neal leave San Antonio for Milwaukee. I actually played against that dude in high school, needless to say his team blew us out.verb_to_trust wrote:What the hell are the Bucks doing exactly? Even money says D Rose stays back in the locker room to "get taped up" or some such nonsense so that he avoids the Heat's banner raising celebration.

If I had to pick one team with the best chance, I'd still take Miami. BUT if you offered me Miami or the field, I'd probably take the field for the first time in the "big 3 era." Barring injury I think they should win it, but with Wade's health every year in the playoffs lately that is hardly a safe assumption.
I think this will be a really fun year with 6-8 teams who should have legitimate aspirations making a finals run.

My thoughts exactly. The playoff miles are starting to build up. The team could just run out of gas by the time they play the Pacers/Bulls/Nets. Still the favorites though.4/5 wrote:I hope. i say new thread
i dont understand why the nets are favored. they added 3 guys who are well past their prime. at best 15-19pt scorers
id say indy and the knicks are going to be miamis biggest challengers with chicago a distant 3rd challenger in the east

Knicks will be pretenders this year in the playoffs. Indy and Chicago are the challengers with the Nets as a potential wildcard if their minutes are handled correctly. The most underrated signing by the Nets was AK-47. That guy is a swiss army knife of a player.Peeps wrote:i say new thread

Everything Derrick is as a basketball player is going to be infuriated by watching that happen, its great. I'm not saying he will come out of the gates running. But he's for sure going to have a chip on his shoulder...4/5 wrote:Even money says D Rose stays back in the locker room to "get taped up" or some such nonsense so that he avoids the Heat's banner raising celebration.
