The Woods and The Hot Rock for me.
You know, I've still not listened to The Hot Rock.
I love it. Not an album you'd put on to show somebody SK though.
Just to be 100% transparent, I've only heard The Woods and NCTL.

I think if you found you liked both those records (Woods and Cities) you'll find a lot to like in the older stuff.

I really love The Hot Rock as well, though, like The Woods, it has a different feel to me than their other work.

I do really like both of those records. I think Woods gets a bit too much love, if I'm honest. I like it but I find it a tad overrated. NCTL is epic and sweeping and theatrical in ways that really speak to me. And I LOVE this new track.

S-K is definitely a band I need to dive into and spend more time with.

I feel The Hot Rock is the best one, and its a very hard and difficult album for anyone who doesnt know SK back at the day. They really went for something different music wise with that one.

Cities is their most accesible and popish album, its almost as if they did some soundtrack for the Carrie show. Is as good as is forgettable.

You're just saying that because I hate Gosford Park.

Okay, so given that I've only heard NCTL and The Woods and I really dig both of those... what album should I dive into next? Should I just jump back to the beginning and start there?

I'd say Dig Me Out or One Beat. I'd lean towards the former and then maybe just go in order from there. I'd probably leave the S/T till later, as it's a big step below everything else.

Barring the first record, I don't know if you can make a wrong choice. Their consistency is pretty hard to beat.

I've heard that about them from a lot of people. I have no idea why I haven't listened to more of their stuff. I think I just liked the two I've heard so much that I never felt compelled to dig further. *shrugs*

But it's way past due.

Dig Me Out then The Hot Rock.

Like i said the latter is a very cool album, very hard, different. It also contains my favorite SK tune, The Size Of Our Love.

Just put No Cities for the first time since forever...

Yeah, Price Tag and Fangless are such a good way to start the album. I love the bridge on PT, its so fucking good.
