I did eat at least (we stopped counting, but I kept eating) 12 dozen oysters on the half shell when they were offered at an all you can eat deal.

Holy shit. Oysters are one of my favorite foods, but I’d be hard pressed to clear two dozen. That’s insane.

All the other suckers were eating shrimp and shit. I saved my room for the oysters.

My wife and I used to do a lot of tasting menus when we first started dating. The last one we ate was like 12 courses of French cuisine, plus lots of wine. We both threw up after.

It was the last tasting menu we ever did. Who needs eight different animal proteins in one meal? That shit is selfish and gluttonous and disgusting.

why? have you had a similar experience?

No, I haven't. In my experience, tasting menus over 4 courses are usually smaller portion sizes. Something close to 12 should be damn near bite sized. I was wondering if the portions were bigger because you were in the midwest or something.
