No, but that signage looks perfect. Where is it out there?

Both of my brothers live in LA, so if it’s worth a side trip I’d check it out sometime.

One is in Santa Monica, right on Venice Beach border. I’ll ask him if he’s been. He’s been there for like 7 yrs now. The other is in Valley Village. I was out there for a week back in Nov during the wildfire breakout.

Are there a lot of greasy spoon Tex-Mex looking places like that in LA and this one just stands out, or is this place unique for being a greasy spoon Tex-Mex place in LA? No matter what, it looks great and I would for sure go. Factoring in standard of living in LA versus here, prices look fair too.

there are a good number of them still standing..i think you'd have more LA riots if they shut these places down..ive just always loved this place since i went about 12 years ago..my best friend is a chef and its one of those hang outs for them after hours..they only have ice cold regular coors and modelo on tap..and like i mentioned before, those damn potato tacos

For the tacos and beer, absolutely. For the golf, nope. But, I’ll take you up for a round at Riviera next time I’m out there.

I’ve actually seen that place before. But never been. My other bro lived in SM for awhile too. I’m sure they’ve both been there.

Since we’re kind of on the subject, I might finish watching City of Gold tonight. Were there riots when he died?

One just packed up and left DC like 20 yrs ago on a whim. The other was in SF for a few years, and work brought him down to LA like 15 yrs ago. They’ve both lived in a few different areas out there. My bro who is still in SM has stayed there because he owned office space there. It’s also just a great place to live.

I love the streets, avenues and boulevards that take on a life of their own and become animals. I’d not heard of Pico before you brought it up, but without ever setting foot in LA, I feel like I know exactly what that strip means to people over there. Sometimes places just have a certain feel to them.

the mexican place, one quarter of a mile away from home as the crow flies, which purveys molcajete, lengua tacos, and huaraches, has proven itself to be nothing less than a gift from Tom.
