Re: The everyone LOVES radiohead thread!
For a lark I went looking for this, and the only place I could find it was on archive.org. Said "wav only" but the first link is flac so ok? Anyway I read the review and laughed at the purity of sound idiot but then had a bigger laugh at the response. What a douche canoe.meatwad wrote:I really enjoyed the cassette that was released with OKNOTOK. Subject: Largely Agreeable
It is hard to accuratly assess whether or not this archival copy is of sufficient quality to stand the test of time, as unfortunatly much signal is lost inherently in the transformation from the electromagnetic physical spectrum expressly provided through the means of tape medium to that of digital ubiquity, but for what it's worth its pretty damn swanky. worth a listen, and if you're a fan, worth a download (if only to compare signal loss 20 years down the road between your copy and this internet what-have-you).

"electromagnetic physical spectrum expressly provided through the means of tape medium to that of digital ubiquity" - or, "digitizing the tape". Yeesh, what did English ever do to you?

i'm right in the middle of this, and totally agree.tragabigzanda wrote:Dawn Chorus > I Am A Very Rude Person > Not The News is a sick run.
getting a nice King Of Limbs / Moon Shaped Pool / Tomorrow's Modern Boxes combo platter feeling on this. a lot of the subtleties and effects from KoL, the orchestral structures from AMSP, the further blippity-bloops and deconstruction of past solo albums. it's nice.

the end of "not the news" feels a lot like the end of "in limbo" to metragabigzanda wrote:Feels like he's sort of returning to what he discovered on Idioteque: Dance music as a bed for something much deeper and complex.
and that bleed into "the axe" is great
